From Santa Cruz to Cochabamba, via Pairumani, the Simón I. Patiño Foundation leads a network of places where art, education and ecology are interwoven to nourish imagination, strengthen knowledge and foster life. This cross-cutting approach nurtures communities, engages youth, and embodies a model of social innovation grounded in Bolivian realities.
From Santa Cruz to Pairumani to Cochabamba, the Simón I. Patiño Foundation promotes an integrated vision of cultural and educational action. Through its emblematic spaces—Espacio Simón I. Patiño, Hacienda Pairumani, Palacio Portales—it connects art, knowledge, nature and community. These places are not isolated: they form a living network, grounded in local needs and open to social innovation.
Each site offers specific educational activities: reading workshops, visual arts, theatre, ecology, and sustainable farming practices. Children, youth and teachers find hands-on resources for learning differently. Here, education is sensory, experiential and connected to the living world and local history.
Whether through memory-sharing at the Espacio, visits to Villa Albina in Pairumani, or art contests at the Palacio Portales, the Foundation’s initiatives promote intergenerational dialogue. They highlight the transmission of knowledge, skills and stories to strengthen social fabric and cultural continuity.
Ecology runs through all programmes: exhibitions on biodiversity, educational trails through Andean ecosystems, workshops on water management and sustainable food. This approach blends science and emotion, art and knowledge to foster collective ecological awareness.
In Santa Cruz and Cochabamba alike, the Foundation supports the local arts scene through exhibitions, residencies and performances. It provides artists with experimental spaces open to all, and encourages crossovers between disciplines, mediums and audiences.
Beyond their walls, these projects infuse their surroundings: partnerships with schools, collaborations with universities, support for citizen and community-led initiatives. The Foundation acts as a catalyst. Each site becomes a springboard for developing skills, strengthening local engagement and ensuring equitable access to culture and knowledge.
By bringing together culture, education and ecology within a shared territorial dynamic, the Simón I. Patiño Foundation gives form to its mission: to support the development of individuals and communities, drawing on collective intelligence, the beauty of place and the power of knowledge. Each project, each place, each initiative embodies this vision of rooted, creative and sustainable solidarity-driven progress.
