Research Activities
In addition to promoting and conducting research in the field of health, it is very important for the Foundation to disseminate and use this information correctly, so that it can be applicable to health professionals, patients and parents.
OUR MEANS
Como parte de investigación y como respuesta a la crisis sanitaria del COVID-19, a partir del año 2020 se creó una nueva ala de Biología Molecular con el objetivo de detectar rápidamente el contagio de COVID-19 en la población de Cochabamba.
Se llevan a cabo diferentes investigaciones como parte de las actividades de los residentes de pediatría, entre algunas de las investigaciones más recientes se puede mencionar: Esteatosis hepática en niños con obesidad; Efectividad del Alcohol al 70 % como desinfectante de teléfonos celulares; Efecto de la pandemia en el estado nutricional de escolares atendidos en el Centro de Pediatría; Adenitis mesentérica y dolor abdominal agudo; Constipación funcional en pediatría; Incremento ponderal en menores de 2 meses alimentados exclusivamente con leche materna en comparación con leche de fórmula.

The Albina R. de Patiño Pediatric Center, with the support of the Patiño Foundation, has made an important contribution over the last 54 years in supporting the integral health of children not only in Cochabamba but also in the rest of the country; not only in the curative part but also in the component of disease prevention, rehabilitation and education of the families that attend the center.
